How many types of filling machines are there?: There are three basic types of filling machines are available:

3 Main Filling Machine Types

🔵 Manual Filling Machine

This manual filler pushes liquid into the container using a piston in the cylinder. Volumetric filling describes this technique as it always delivers the same product volume.

For consistency, you can set a target dispensing volume, which is adjustable within the machine’s 100 to 500 ml output scope. It is battery-operated, space-saving, and convenient for benchtop use.

Place the container in the filling machine and push the lever until it stops, forcing the liquid out of the nozzle and into the container. Almost usually, manually controlled liquid filling devices fill one container.

Manual fillers can handle several liquids and thicknesses. Filling 15 bottles every minute will work depending on liquid viscosity and cycle volume.

🔵 Semi-Automatic Filling Machine

Manual and semi-automatic fillers function similarly, but semi-automatic machines are more efficient as they have an outside power source. With as many as four available filling heads, this machine can efficiently fill four containers at once.

When dispensing liquid into the container, several semi-automatic filling machines work the same way as manual filling machines. However, instead of pulling a lever, you may push a foot pedal switch or position the containers, and filling happens automatically.

These machines can be stationary, portable, or bench-mounted. Get the liquid input from a hopper or a separate vessel, respectively.

🔵 Fully Automatic Filling Machine

Fully automated fillers provide the extra production advantage of having a bottle handling system. This moves containers through the filling step to any following operations, such as cap insertion and labelling, without human intervention.

Further operations might include number printing and nitrogen purge to eliminate oxygen from the top of full bottles.

Typically, a revolving feed table or other such device position containers and feed them into the filling process as necessary. Another way to feed caps into the system is via a revolving hopper, which can accurately orient them and deposit them in a chute for insertion.

Fully automated filling machines may fill each container individually or in groups of up to 12 before discharging the first group to make room for the second. A fully automated filling system can fill 150 containers per minute with 5 ml to 5.5 liter capacity.
